Together with our clients, we have studied alternative ways of designing a home with as many windows as possible towards the fjord without the house appearing like a glass house, which the facades in particular will bear the mark of. These will have varied materials and a modern expression, while at the same time they will appear subdued with traditional architectural qualities. The flat roof continues the current shape, as well as the expression found in several of the buildings in the immediate area. We have emphasized good proportions and a continuation of sizes from the existing building above the house, and design the floor plan and facades so that we achieve a good distribution of outdoor living space and zones for the various housing units. This means, among other things, that the best outdoor living areas are placed separately from bedrooms and bedroom windows, and that the main living room and kitchen face their own outdoor areas.
